Performing Arts

Our very busy Performing Arts department continues to excel in their various pursuits ranging from Choir, Jazz Band, Concert Band, major productions, ensemble soirees, and performances from our VCE students showcasing their work.

Our Performing Arts dynamos - Steve Wiegerink (Drama) and newly appointed  Colin Maney (Music) and their very capable teams have maintained a very demanding schedule for both themselves and their performers, in creating some very fine performances.

Jazz Band & Concert Band

A range of students from across all year levels participate in both the Jazz Band and the Concert Band. Students skilfully play a variety of instruments ranging from the double bass through to the flute; the drums and percussion; the guitar and the piano. Most students have individual instrumental music lessons which are organised through the school during school hours, both with THS music teachers and private tutors.

The Jazz and Concert Bands have played on a number of

occasions through the year, at intimate soirees, eisteddfods;

engagements for the community such as the opening of the
